Technology And Tradition

In the last many years, more and more attention is paid not solely to ethical points that arise throughout the use of a technology, but in addition in the course of the design part. Cultural approaches are often phenomenological in nature or at least place themselves in relation to phenomenology as post-phenomenology. Examples of philosophers on this custom are Don Ihde, Albert Borgmann, Peter-Paul Verbeek and Evan Selinger (e.g., Borgmann 1984; Ihde 1990; Verbeek 2000 , 2011). The combination of both ideas has led some to say that technology has company, a claim that is discussed below in Section 3.three.1. It was not until the 20th century that the event of the ethics of technology as a systematic and roughly impartial subdiscipline of philosophy began.
